In brief

  • KK Giam says he left BC.Game in July 2026 after joining as chief executive in March 2026.
  • Giam says his mandate to build credibility and transparency did not fit what he found internally.
  • He cites alleged manipulation of Trustpilot scores and reviews as one thing he did not approve of.
  • BC.Game says it had a pleasant working relationship with Giam and wishes him well.

BC.Game's former chief executive Kar Kheng Giam, known as KK Giam, left the company in July 2026 after taking the role in March 2026, he told the report. Giam said his mandate was to build credibility, transparency and legitimacy, and that this did not fit with what he found happening within the business.

On taking the role, Giam said his focus would be on strengthening BC.Game's presence in regulated markets, improving the platform experience and continuing to build trust with users. He told the report that the first phase of the strategy, announcing him as chief executive and a new way of working, went well and included media and public relations coverage and a face-to-face interview at iGB Live. He said the second stage, changing the company itself, did not succeed.

According to Giam, the manipulation of Trustpilot scores and reviews that has been alleged was among the practices he did not fully endorse. At the time of the report, the company's Trustpilot rating could not be seen, the profile citing a breach of platform guidelines, and a notice stated that fake reviews had been removed. Giam added that grey-market operators construct cushions and leeways to circumvent rules and regulations, something he encountered widely at BC.Game and at its peers.

NEXT.io also put questions to Giam on the operator's Curaçao past. A court in Curaçao ruled in 2024 that one of the companies behind the operator was bankrupt, after player claims were disputed, and the island's gambling regulator subsequently sought to revoke the licence. That December, before the regulator could reach a final decision, BC.Game gave up the licence of its own accord. By August 2025, the bankruptcy trustee had started work on reversing the original ruling, pointing to the difficulty of recovering the disputed claims.

Giam said he suspected the internal understanding at the time was to let claimants sue the company. Asked whether the business, which is not licensed in the UK but sponsors League One club Leicester City, is accessible to UK players via a VPN, Giam said a powerful VPN would allow users to log onto many platforms anywhere. Leicester City maintains that BC.Game's services are unavailable to UK users.

Giam said he told the founder he wanted out and that the company was not a place where he could add value, adding that his reputation was at stake. He said the five-month tenure was the shortest assignment of his career and that he is content for now. A BC.Game spokesperson said the company had a pleasant working relationship with Giam and wished him well, and that its focus remains on moving the business forward.
