Flutter relocates Sky Bet headquarters to Malta ahead of UK tax changes

Licences & markets

Flutter has moved Sky Bet’s headquarters and senior staff to Malta, while the business remains registered in the UK as SBG Sports Ltd, the company said. The Gambling Commission granted SBG Sports a new UK licence last month. A report estimates annual tax savings of up to £55m, while Flutter said the move had strategic and commercial reasons and that Sky Bet would continue paying UK corporation tax on its profits.

The relocation and new licence affect Sky Bet’s UK operations as the government considers changes to gambling taxes.
