Finnish gambling reform may face six-month delay, reports say

Licences & markets

Finland’s proposed gambling licensing reform may be delayed, reportedly amid concerns within the National Coalition Party about advertising before the April 2027 election. The original target for the changes to take effect is 1 January 2027, while informal discussions have reportedly considered June or July that year. Committee chairman Mauri Peltokangas denied suggestions of an intentional delay.

A delay would change the expected timing for operators preparing to enter Finland’s proposed licensed market.
