FEMARA, the Spanish national federation of recreational and gaming machine operators, attended a joint meeting of the executive committee and board of CEPYME, the Spanish confederation of small and medium-sized enterprises, on 21 October. The meeting set out the confederation's priorities for the next legislative term.
At the meeting, CEPYME reviewed the political, economic and social situation and discussed the main concerns of Spanish small and medium-sized enterprises and micro-enterprises. Topics included political uncertainty ahead of general elections called for 29 November, the socio-economic crisis in Ceuta, access to housing and rising labour costs.
CEPYME presented a set of priorities for the next legislative term. These included legal certainty for businesses, support for business growth, action against workplace absenteeism, and reductions in taxation and bureaucratic burdens, which the meeting said weigh particularly heavily on small and medium-sized enterprises.
FEMARA said its attendance maintains representation of machine operating companies within Spain's main SME organisation. The federation is preparing its VII FEMARA OPEN FÓRUM at the Palacio de Cibeles, the report said.
