FanDuel and CME Group launched FanDuel Predicts in Alabama, Alaska, South Carolina, North Dakota and South Dakota on Monday as part of a phased US rollout. CME said the platform will add states in the coming weeks and into 2026; sports event contracts will be offered only where that form of wagering is not permitted.
The launch expands the partners’ prediction-market reach while limiting sports contracts to specified state markets.

DraftKings launched its sports prediction app in 38 US states on Friday, while FanDuel’s launch was described as imminent by Truist Securities analyst Barry Jonas. Jonas said investors remained cautious amid outstanding court cases and said both companies believed their state sports-betting licences were not at risk.
DraftKings was reported to be preparing a prediction-market product for launch in December or January, limited to states without online sports betting. Truist analyst Barry Jonas said company leaders expected the product to have shorter payback periods and higher margins than online sports betting, with limited promotional allowances.
It was reported that Novig sued New York, Massachusetts, Washington and New Mexico after launching its standalone prediction market platform. The platform launched nationwide under CFTC regulation, according to the report.
Underdog filed lawsuits in Ohio, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, New Mexico and Washington state, seeking to stop state authorities from regulating or ending its event-contract offering. The company argues that federal oversight gives the CFTC exclusive jurisdiction and seeks permanent injunctions and declaratory judgments; it filed after surrendering daily fantasy sports licences in seven states.
Sporttrade will stop taking wagers in New Jersey, Colorado, Iowa, Arizona and Virginia on 25 May as it pursues entry into prediction markets. The company submitted applications to the CFTC in February; platform access will end by 26 June, with customer withdrawal deadlines varying by state.
