European doctors call for EU action on gambling advertising and age checks
The CPME urged European governments to treat gambling as a public health issue, citing online access, marketing and game design. Its recommendations include banning gambling advertising and sponsorship, tighter oversight of online platforms, EU-wide age verification and greater investment in prevention, research and treatment.
The proposals could lead to tighter marketing, platform and age-verification requirements for gambling businesses across the EU.
