Estonia lawmakers plan fix for online casino tax gap in 2026

Regulation

Estonian lawmakers plan to amend the gambling tax law after a drafting error left online casino games outside the tax rules for 2026, Aivar Kokk and Finance Committee head Annely Akkermann said, according to media reports. The intended first reduction was from 6% to 5.5% in 2026, on a path towards 4%; Akkermann said lawmakers would add a correction to another bill in progress.

Until lawmakers correct the wording, online casino operators may not face the intended 2026 tax rate.
