ELK Studios names Jacob Nordwall product owner for Propaganda 2

ELK Studios has appointed Jacob Nordwall as product owner of the slot Propaganda 2, he told PressGiochi. Nordwall has led the company's marketing department for eight years, during which more than 100 titles were brought to market, and the role is his first as product owner. The game is due for release on 22 October.

Propaganda 2 is a sequel to the first Propaganda, published in 2022, which Nordwall said was the first game to introduce ELK Studios' X mechanic. He said the original title was successful at the time and opened the way for many later ELK Studios titles based on the same mechanic, and that the Propaganda universe still had much to offer and develop, which led to the decision to build a sequel.

According to Nordwall, the sequel expands the original's universe with new mechanics and a narrative centred on the power of love and rebellion. He said the first Propaganda had few features but very distinctive ones, and that the team used those as a base and added more powerful features intended to integrate with the main mechanics. He named the Love Bomb and Heart features, and said Love Bomb activates all special-feature symbols for the rest of the round.

Nordwall said his marketing experience influenced the game's development, describing a story in which the weaker rebel against the power that controls them, choosing to do so through love. He said he was most proud, on looking back at the initial presentation of the game to the team, of seeing colleagues take on the concept and help expand it, and that the game is the result of work by a motivated team. Asked whether he will act as product owner on future ELK Studios games, he said: "Quanto a nuovi giochi che mi vedano coinvolto in futuro, chi lo sa?"
