DraftKings launched online sports betting and casino in Alberta on 13 July, company president Paul Liberman said. The company is stopping its daily fantasy sports service in the province as it enters the regulated market, according to Liberman.
DraftKings’ market entry combines two regulated products with the withdrawal of its daily fantasy sports service.

iGamingFuture reported that Play’n GO entered Alberta’s newly regulated iGaming market. The expansion adds the province to its Canadian business.
Pragmatic Play said it has entered Alberta’s regulated online gambling market after its slot and live casino portfolios received certification. The supplier said its offering includes blackjack, baccarat, roulette and game shows, as well as slot titles including Fury of Anubis and Big Bass Blast.
Altenar said Alberta's Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission approved it to supply sports betting solutions in the province. The approval allows it to support licensed operators ahead of the market launch expected on 13 July 2026.
Reportedly, Alberta opposes Bill S-211, which proposes federal supervision of sports-betting marketing. The House of Commons heritage committee is preparing clause-by-clause scrutiny of the proposed legislation.
PURE Casino Entertainment joined the International Betting Integrity Association after launching online sports betting in Alberta. The company said the membership forms part of its integrity and compliance framework; Alberta rules require licensed operators to contract an approved independent integrity monitor.
