Dominican Republic executive relaunches gambling regularisation plan

Regulation

The Dominican Republic's executive branch announced the relaunch of its National Plan for Regularisation of gambling operations. The plan would bring lottery shops, betting establishments, casinos and other gambling businesses into the regulated and fiscal systems, with the DGII as the central verification body. A decree effective 26 March 2026 annulled rules established under Decree 295-22, and the government is to develop regulatory frameworks with a coordinating council.

Operators may need to formalise their businesses and meet tax checks under the relaunch plan.
