Dominican Republic enacts gambling law and appoints DGJA director
President Luis Abinader enacted Law 86-26 and provisionally appointed Teófilo “Quico” Tabar Manzur to lead the newly created General Directorate of Gambling, under Decree 684-26. The decree also maintains an advisory council and directs relevant state authorities to support the new body’s operations.
The new law, directorate and provisional appointment establish a framework for gambling oversight in the Dominican Republic.
