Reportedly, the NGCB has given preliminary approval to a proposed amendment removing references to the National Council on Problem Gambling from a Nevada gaming regulation. The proposal follows the Nevada Council on Problem Gambling’s decision roughly two months earlier to end ties with the national organisation over its Kalshi partnership.
A revision to Regulation 5.170(2) received initial approval from the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB). Under the change, the regulation would no longer mention the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG), and problem-gambling help information would point to a Nevada nonprofit organisation instead. The NGCB approved the revision during a Wednesday workshop, and it formed part of 12 pages of proposed regulatory changes and removals of outdated regulations. The Nevada Gaming Commission is due to take up the proposals on 22 October.
