Ontario’s AGCO lottery standards prohibit selling tickets to people under 18 or to specified groups, including people who appear intoxicated. The rules also restrict who may play or win prizes and require operators and sellers to monitor and prevent prohibited betting activities.
Ontario's AGCO lottery standards bar sellers from selling lottery tickets to anyone under 18 and to a list of designated groups, according to a regulator's notice. Sellers may not sell to a person who appears intoxicated, to the seller's own directors, officers or partners, or to registered gaming assistants working at the site where the tickets are sold. The same restriction covers officers or staff of a union representing or bargaining for employees at that site, employees of registered suppliers who maintain or repair gaming equipment there, and board members or employees of the CAJO.
