DGOJ opens consultation on online gambling risk-detection mechanism

Regulation

Spain’s DGOJ opened a public consultation on a draft resolution to establish a mechanism for detecting risky behaviour among online gambling players. The authority invited interested people and organisations to submit contributions by 22 October 2026 to its Subdirectorate General for Gambling Regulation. The proposal follows the DGOJ’s 2025 announcement of an algorithm using real player-behaviour data to identify risk patterns.

Operators may need to consider the proposed risk-detection mechanism and the consultation’s policy implications.
