Spain's DGOJ took part in the Gaming in Spain Conference 2026 on 15 October, the regulator said in a listing of its activities. The conference covered recent regulatory developments, an analysis of the impact of rules on commercial communications, and the start of a new system, according to the DGOJ.

The DGOJ said the event addressed the regulatory challenges of online gambling. The listing gives no further detail on the new system or on the conclusions reached at the conference.

The conference entry is one of several items the DGOJ published in its news listing. On 21 October, the ministry of consumption set a global limit for online gambling deposits and launched a player portal, under which a user's deposits across all operators are counted together and further deposits are blocked once the combined total exceeds the limit.

On 16 October, the DGOJ extended by four calendar days the deadline for the second public consultation on the draft resolution approving a mechanism to detect at-risk user behaviour, saying the extension was intended to allow a closer examination of the published documentation. The public consultation on the draft had opened on 13 October.

The listing also records that on 30 October the DGOJ's director general took part in a panel discussion on predictive markets and the challenges they pose for gambling regulation in Spain at MERGE Madrid 2026.
