The Consumentenbond said it opposes Verpact’s proposed deposit-return lottery in the Netherlands, after state secretary Thiery Aartsen said the planned deposit increase had been dropped. The consumer group said the lottery could resemble gambling and called instead for more collection points, clearer communication and a return bonus.
Verpact’s plan may require discussions with the Kansspelautoriteit before the lottery can proceed.
