Connecticut lawmakers approve gaming reforms in HB 5229
Connecticut’s House and Senate approved HB 5229 on 4 and 6 May, respectively, sending the gaming bill to Governor Ned Lamont. The measure would restrict gambling advertising at college facilities and on higher education digital platforms, require operators to provide a toll-free customer service number and mandate a study of prediction markets by February 2027. Lamont has 15 days after receiving the bill to sign or veto it; without action, it becomes law.
Sportsbooks may need to change college-related advertising and provide a toll-free customer service line if the bill becomes law.
