- Violations included minors in a gaming hall, smoking breaches and undeclared staff.
- The Questura said checks will continue across the province in the coming months.
Italy's State Police carried out inspections of public premises, commercial businesses and entertainment venues across Como province, the Questura di Como said. The checks were intended to verify compliance with current rules and the validity of the administrative authorisations required to run the activities.
The operations were stepped up for Halloween and covered premises in Vertemate con Minoprio, Villa Guardia and Fino Mornasco. They were conducted with the Guardia di Finanza's Como group to check tax compliance and the presence of qualified staff.
Inspections of gaming halls, betting shops, bars and restaurants found administrative and tax violations. The irregularities led to administrative fines for significant amounts, and the files were sent to the competent bodies for any further measures, according to the Questura. The violations identified included the presence of minors in a gaming hall, breaches of smoking rules, failure to issue tax documents, omissions concerning cash register equipment and the use of undeclared or irregular staff.
The operations were aimed at checking that activities in the premises matched their authorised licences, preventing the unauthorised staging of public entertainment and protecting customers and compliant traders. The Questura di Como said the integrated checks would continue systematically across the province in the coming months.
