Colorado operator sues gaming division and three cities over seized machines
Gaming operator Trey Franzoy sued the Colorado Division of Gaming and the cities of Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Grand Junction, alleging that officials wrongly treated his skill games as illegal gambling. The report says Colorado Springs police seized more than $100,000 and several machines in 2023, and that a court ordered the return of the assets this year; Franzoy alleges some remain outstanding and seeks compensation.
The lawsuit could affect how Colorado classifies skill-based gaming machines and the enforcement actions taken against them.
