Colombia’s Constitutional Court suspends emergency decree and gambling tax
Colombia’s Constitutional Court provisionally suspended the economic and social emergency decree signed by President Gustavo Petro, pending a final decision on its merits. The decree included a 19% VAT on online games of chance, calculated on gross gaming revenue; the Court said the relevant decrees, including the gambling measure, will have no legal effect during the suspension.
Operators are temporarily not subject to the decree’s 19% online gambling VAT while the Court reviews its constitutionality.
