Coljuegos said it had destroyed 11,788 items operating without legal authorisation in Colombia, including 673 items in recent enforcement actions. The authority estimated the items had withheld more than COP250bn a year from the health system.
Operators face enforcement against unauthorised gambling equipment, while the actions protect gaming revenues designated for health funding.

Coljuegos said it issued 46,228 blocking orders against websites offering unauthorised betting since the current government took office in 2022. The regulator reported 55,658 such requests over its entire history, with 83% issued during that period. Coljuegos said it worked with the Ministry of ICT to streamline blocking with internet service providers.
Colombia's Coljuegos and the Fiscalía General de la Nación carried out an operation against an allegedly illegal poker tournament in Barranquilla, the regulator said. Officials removed 1,869 items used in poker betting, including chips, cards, tables and invoices. Coljuegos president Marco Emilio Hincapié said poker is a game of chance under Law 643 of 2001 and requires authorisation.
Coljuegos seized 83 electronic slot machines operating without authorisation in Barranquilla, Colombia, on 30 March 2026, with support from the National Army’s Military Police Battalion No. 2. The machines were removed from six businesses and will enter an administrative sanctioning process before destruction, the regulator said. Coljuegos also reported seizing 293 illegal gaming items the previous week.
Reportedly, Jaime Vives Pinedo has become president of Colombia’s Coljuegos, replacing Marco Emilio Hincapié. His responsibilities include overseeing authorised operators, tackling illegal gambling and monitoring gambling revenue that funds healthcare.
Colombia's Coljuegos issued Resolution No. 20260019344, adopting technical requirements for the Baloto online lotto game. The annex covers the central game system, sales terminals, random number generator conditions and reporting protocols, with compliance certified by authorised testing laboratories. It takes effect on publication in the Diario Oficial.
