Coinbase agrees to acquire The Clearing Company in prediction markets push

Coinbase has agreed to acquire The Clearing Company, a prediction-markets startup, after launching prediction-market access on its platform. The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close in January; the companies did not disclose financial terms. The Clearing Company will operate independently until completion, when its team is expected to join Coinbase.
