The CGIA Mestre research office and As.Tro-Confindustria SIT will present the sixth edition of their study on Italy's gambling sector at Palazzo Wedekind in Rome on 13 November 2026 at 11.00, As.Tro announced. The company also released the official programme for the event.

The study centres on the analysis of the coin-operated machine segment (AWP and VLT), covering the development of the distribution network, the main economic indicators, the tax contribution and employment. It also examines changes in the balance between land-based and online gambling, with a focus on remote gambling covering stakes, spending, tax revenue, the main game types, the structure of the supply chain and regulatory changes.

New features include a regional appendix examining the weight of gambling in the consumption system, the regional distribution of spending, businesses, employees and land-based and online supply, together with regulatory differences between territories. A new ISTAT focus covers Italians' gambling habits, including money-win games, the spread of video games and generational differences.

The event, moderated by journalist Mario Benedetto, will open with an introduction by Isabella Rusciano for As.Tro-Confindustria SIT, followed by the presentation of the study by CGIA Mestre researchers Daniele Nicolai and Andrea Vavolo and an address by As.Tro-Confindustria SIT vice-president Armando Iaccarino.

The third quarterly report of the Nexus observatory on illegal online gambling will then be presented, with Chiara Sambaldi, director and scientific coordinator of the observatory, and Filippo Pucci, founder of Data Room Nexus. The publication will examine the development of the illegal offer and support the observatory's scientific and institutional development through involvement of academia and closer dialogue with the competent institutions.

Mario Lollobrigida, director of games at the Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli, will give the closing remarks. The organisers said the event will offer a forum on changes in the legal market and the illegal offer, with attention to the sector's prospects and consumer protection.
