The Castilla y León regional government is advancing work on its responsible-gaming strategy, with definitive approval expected in the coming months, according to Ruth Andérez, director of institutional relations and external action at the regional presidency's council. Andérez said the document is at an advanced stage and that the proposal has been sent to the parties involved, including several directorates-general, associations and business representatives in the sector. The strategy must still complete the deadlines set by the legal procedure before it is presented to the regional government council, she said.
Andérez said the initiative follows a commitment made during the previous legislative term. She said some of the representatives now consulted sit on the technical responsible-gaming commission tasked with developing the strategy, with the aim of incorporating the different perspectives on the matter.
Andérez presented the programme of the 19th Congreso del Juego, being held in Soria, at an event attended by Yolanda de Gregorio, the regional government's territorial delegate in Soria, and representatives of the business organisations collaborating in the event. Representatives of the administrations of Andalucía, Aragón, Cantabria, Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura, Comunidad de Madrid, País Vasco and La Rioja are scheduled to attend alongside Castilla y León. Private-sector representation is to include regional and national companies from the various subsectors, manufacturers and testing laboratories for gaming material.
During her intervention, Andérez reviewed the congress programme and noted the attendance of sector professionals, institutional representatives and technical staff, at an event that favours the exchange of experiences and dialogue between the administration and operators.
