CAOLAB urges Buenos Aires lottery authority to block Telekino Digital

CAOLAB, the Buenos Aires chamber of official lottery agents, has asked the Instituto Provincial de Lotería y Casinos (IPLyC Buenos Aires) not to authorise Telekino Digital, a digital sales platform developed by Juegos Internacionales S.A. The request was made in a note addressed to the institute's president, Gonzalo Atanasof, according to the chamber.

The platform is intended for the sale of Juegos Internacionales' Telekino Digital product and provides for a 7.5% commission for official lottery agents. CAOLAB said it learned of the tool's development and that it opposes the platform being introduced without prior consultation with the chamber.

In the note, CAOLAB said the platform would be an alternative sales channel imposed without prior consultation with the institution. The chamber said the system would cause significant economic harm to official lottery agents and widespread discontent in the sector.

CAOLAB said the situation obliged it to state its opposition to the tool and to declare a state of alert and mobilisation in defence of its members' interests. The note was signed by CAOLAB president Marcelo Iglesias and secretary Claudio Marino.
