Campania court upholds Naples betting licence refusal

Regulation

The Regional Administrative Court of Campania rejected an appeal against the Naples police authority’s refusal to issue a public-security licence for a betting shop in Naples. The court said the applicant’s recent cohabitation with her father, his frequent presence at the premises and the site’s past use for unauthorised betting supported the authority’s preventive assessment of possible family influence.

The ruling clarifies that authorities may consider family links alongside concrete circumstances when assessing betting-shop licence applications.
