California DOJ seizes 15 Santa Anita gaming machines

Enforcement & compliance

California Department of Justice representatives removed Racing on Demand machines from Santa Anita racecourse on Saturday, two days after their installation, the report said. The machines took $26,600 in wagers while at the track. Santa Anita owner The Stronach Group disputed the seizure, saying the games complied with California law and that it was prepared to defend its position.

The seizure and disputed legality affect the availability of race-based gambling machines at California racetracks.
