Regulation

The Ieps study counted 231 online betting proposals presented in Brazil’s National Congress from January 2019 to March 2026. It said 14 proposals, or 6.1% of the total, address health governance and harm prevention; 158 were submitted in the Chamber of Deputies and 73 in the Senate. The study was developed with the FPSM and Umane, and included proposals at different legislative stages.

The findings show the distribution of legislative attention to betting rules and health-related harm prevention in Brazil.
