Brazilian Senate committee considers doubling tax on fixed-odds betting
Brazil’s Senate Economic Affairs Committee may vote on 18 November on a bill that would double taxation on fixed-odds sports betting, according to the report. The proposal also raises the CSLL contribution for fintechs and other financial institutions. If approved by the committee, the bill would proceed to the Chamber of Deputies unless a floor vote is requested.
A committee vote could advance a proposed increase in the tax burden on fixed-odds betting operators.
