Brazil’s government has issued a provisional measure ending betting authorisations, with no repayment or compensation for operators, according to the report. The measure covers 85 authorisations issued since late 2024, each costing R$30 million, and takes effect immediately; the sites and apps must become unavailable from 6 October, while Congress will consider the measure.

Operators face the loss of authorisations and fees, with the measure excluding compensation for investments and expected profits.
