Brazil’s STF admits Flamengo to case challenging betting ban

Regulation

Justice Luis Fux of Brazil’s Supreme Federal Court admitted Flamengo as an interested party in a case challenging Provisional Measure No. 1,394/2026. The club said it wants to contribute its perspective on the measure’s effects on sport; the challenge was brought by ANJL and IBJR, which are asking the court to suspend the measure.

The case may shape how Brazil’s proposed betting prohibition affects sports organisations and regulated betting companies.
