Brazil public prosecutor asks audit court to investigate online betting impacts
The Public Prosecutor's Office at Brazil's Federal Court of Accounts (MPTCU) asked the court to investigate the effects of fixed-odds betting on public spending, household debt and income, tax collection and state oversight, according to the report. The request also covers money laundering prevention and fraud controls. The MPTCU said the matter concerns external oversight of public administration, not constitutional review of betting laws.
The requested inquiry could scrutinise public oversight and the fiscal and social effects of fixed-odds betting.
