Brazil betting-sector commentary cites R$9.95bn in 2025 tax revenue

Regulation

A commentary on Brazil’s regulated betting market cited LCA Consultoria estimates that betting accounts for 0.46% of household consumption, with average monthly spending of R$122 per bettor. It also said the sector paid R$9.95 billion in taxes in 2025 and R$2.5 billion in the first two months of 2026, while arguing that restrictions could shift demand to illegal platforms.

The figures form part of an industry argument over betting’s household impact and proposals to restrict the regulated market.
