Blumenthal introduces federal prediction markets bill
US Senator Richard Blumenthal introduced the Prediction Markets Security and Integrity Act on 12 March. The proposal would set federal rules on insider trading and market manipulation, prohibit contracts related to war, death or military action, and establish age-verification and advertising restrictions. It was referred to committee, with no vote scheduled.
The proposal could set federal requirements for prediction market platforms and state sports betting programmes.
