Betpoint launches football market covering wins or leads at 90 minutes

Betpoint has introduced a football betting market called "Squadra vince o avanti al minuto 90", the company reportedly said. The market separates a match's position at the end of the 90 regulation minutes from the result after added time.

A bet on the market is settled as winning if either of two alternative conditions is met: the selected team wins the match, or it is ahead at the 90th minute. Only one condition needs to occur for the prediction to win, so the market also takes account of the score reached before events in added time can change it.

The company illustrated the market with a recent Italian league match, Inter–Fiorentina on Sunday 25 October. Fiorentina took the lead through Jimenez in the 65th minute and held the 1-0 advantage as the 90th minute arrived. In added time, Inter equalised through Thuram in the 90th+1 minute and then completed the turnaround at 2-1 with a penalty converted by Zielinski.

In that scenario, a bet on "Fiorentina vince o avanti al minuto 90" would have been winning, because the Viola side was ahead at the end of the 90 regulation minutes despite the defeat that followed. According to the report, the market widens the ways a match can be read, particularly in games where the closing stages can reverse the result, and lets bettors form a prediction that accounts not only for the final victory but also for the selected team's position at the end of regulation time.
