Belgium’s Gaming Commission says gamblers can request voluntary exclusion and be placed on the EPIS list. The ban applies to physical and online casinos, slot machine arcades and betting, with no option to restrict it to selected gambling types.
Operators must apply voluntary exclusions across all listed gambling channels, both online and physical.

Belgium's Gambling Commission reported €442.57m in sports betting stakes during the 2026 World Cup, which ran from 11 June to 19 July. Online stakes reached €402.90m, while operator gross gaming revenue totalled €58.18m across online and retail betting, the report said.

The figure was 51.2% above Euro 2024 and 85.5% higher than the 2022 World Cup; the commission cautioned that the tournaments differed in team and match numbers. Online gross gaming revenue reached €49.7m, while total stakes across online and retail channels were €442.6m.
The Dutch Gambling Authority hosted the first Player Protection Conference on 8–9 September 2025, with regulators, academics, researchers and experts from 16 European countries. Participants discussed youth protection, illegal gambling and advertising, and using player data to identify risk factors; working groups were launched and were due to meet for the first time during 2026.
Belgium’s Gaming Commission says licensed online betting websites have nearly 500,000 active player accounts. It reports that sports betting accounts for 86% of betting GGR, with three-quarters of that figure attributed to football.
Belgium’s Gaming Commission says the National Lottery is not part of the commission and its lottery games are outside the commission’s remit. The commission does oversee Scooore! sports betting because betting falls under the Gambling Act; cooperation on complaints and a helpline has also taken place under an agreement.
