In brief

  • Basque 2027 budget draft forecasts €3.9m from the gaming-tax surcharge.
  • €390,000 is allocated for provincial councils' bingo and surcharge management costs.
  • Article 37 sets a 1.030 coefficient, a 3% rise in fixed regional fees.
  • The fee rise may affect some gaming authorisations and renewals.

The Basque government's draft general budget for 2027 includes a forecast of €3.9m in revenue from the surcharge on the gaming tax, within the budget of the Directorate of Tax Administration. The figure is the Basque government's estimate for the 2027 financial year, according to the budget project.

On the spending side, the project sets aside €390,000 to cover the provincial councils' management costs related to bingo and the gaming-tax surcharge. The allocation sits within the Fiscal Policy programme and is classified as an expandable credit.

The draft also provides for a general update of the regional administration's fixed-amount fees. Article 37 sets a coefficient of 1.030, equivalent to a 3% increase. The update may affect administrative charges linked to authorisations and renewals of gaming activities, including those for recreational machines, casinos and gaming halls, where no specific amount is set by another provision.
