Bangladesh bill proposes broad gambling restrictions and digital enforcement powers
Bangladesh’s Gambling Prevention Bill of 2026 proposes replacing the Public Gambling Act of 1867 with rules covering in-person and online gambling. The draft would extend scrutiny to gambling networks and related technology and marketing activity, and proposes account-freezing powers, a national digital blacklist and identity verification measures.
If enacted, the proposal could expose gambling operators and related technology and payment services to wider enforcement measures.
