Balearic court annuls €150,000 Son Pardo betting fine

Enforcement & compliance

The Balearic Islands High Court annulled a €150,000 penalty imposed on the Institut de l’Esport Hípic de Mallorca (IEHM), reportedly in a decision dated 18 December. The fine had been issued in 2022 over alleged failures at Son Pardo, including not displaying betting authorisation. The court ordered the regional government to pay costs capped at €3,000; it has 30 days from notification to seek an appeal.

The ruling removes the penalty but leaves the regional government a 30-day window to appeal.
