Austrian physician files criminal complaint against evoke chief executive

Regulation

An Austrian physician filed a private criminal complaint naming evoke chief executive Per Widerström, a former executive and several evoke-owned companies, asking Vienna prosecutors to investigate alleged breaches of Austria’s gambling monopoly. The physician is also pursuing bankruptcy proceedings in Malta, due before the courts in early 2026; evoke declined to comment.

The complaint and parallel Malta proceedings create legal exposure for evoke over historic gambling activity and unpaid player losses.
