ASONABADE and ADOBAD challenge Dominican horse-racing permits and draft gambling law
ASONABADE and ADOBAD alleged that the National Horse Racing Commission issued licences without proper controls, saying horse-racing sales points had grown from 166 in 2019 to nearly 70,000. ASONABADE president Ricardo Nadal called for the permits to be withdrawn and warned that the proposed gambling law could raise the number of betting outlets above 150,000 if passed in its current form. The bill, approved by the Chamber of Deputies, is under Senate review.
The Senate review may shape gambling authorisations as associations challenge licences and warn of more betting outlets.
