ASA rules against SkillOnNet over Gecko Play gambling advert

Regulation

The UK Advertising Standards Authority upheld two complaints about a paid Instagram advert for SkillOnNet’s Gecko Play brand, according to the report. The ASA said the advert trivialised gambling and could encourage repeated play after losses; SkillOnNet said it removed the advert and updated its marketing guidance. The regulator ordered that it must not appear again in the same form.

The ruling requires Gecko Play to keep the advert off air in that form and affects its future marketing campaigns.
