Arizona governor bars state employees from profiting through prediction markets
Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs signed an executive order barring executive-branch employees from using or disclosing non-public government information to profit, avoid losses or help others profit through prediction markets. Violations could lead to dismissal and referral to law enforcement; Hobbs also urged other state institutions and elected officials to adopt similar policies.
The order creates employment and law-enforcement consequences for executive-branch staff who misuse government information in prediction markets.
