  • The association said its immediate priority remains resuming operations and preserving granted authorisations.

Brazil's National Association of Games and Lotteries (ANJL) has said it is preparing compensation measures for member companies affected by the operational suspension imposed under Provisional Measure 1,394/2026. In a notice to members, the association said it is structuring both a possible collective action and individual actions, taking into account the circumstances and the damage actually borne by each company. The compensation work is running alongside existing efforts to resume the affected companies' operations.

According to the notice, the items that may be included in the claims are the proportional restitution of licence fees for the authorisation period not used, investments not amortised during the suspension, costs arising from the interruption of activities, lost profits and other duly evidenced financial losses. ANJL said it will advise members in due course on the documentation required and the procedures for taking part in the legal measures. It recommended that members immediately preserve payment receipts for licence fees, financial statements, contracts, investment records and other documents showing the financial impact of the suspension.

ANJL said it maintains a positive expectation for the next developments at the Supreme Federal Court (STF) and expects important advances for the resumption of operations in the week beginning Monday 2 November. The association said its immediate priority remains the resumption of activities and the preservation of the authorisations regularly granted to companies in the sector. It added that the losses already borne by the companies should not be disregarded and should be the subject of the applicable legal measures.
