ANJL criticises Desenrola 2 for excluding illegal betting platforms in Brazil
Brazil’s National Association of Games and Lotteries (ANJL) said the Desenrola 2 debt-relief programme addresses only the 84 authorised betting companies and not illegal online platforms. The association said illegal operators evade taxes and oversight, and argued that household debt is more closely linked to high interest rates. ANJL said it was assessing the programme’s effects.
The programme’s scope may affect authorised operators while leaving the illegal platforms identified by ANJL outside its measures.
