ANJL and IBJR renew request to suspend Brazil betting ban

Regulation

ANJL and IBJR filed a second petition with Supreme Federal Court minister Luiz Fux on 28 September, seeking to suspend Provisional Measure 1,394/2026, which prohibited fixed-odds betting in Brazil. The associations cited 833 new illegal sites since the prohibition, based on monitoring accessed on 28 September, and set out alternative requests if a full suspension is not granted. The petition was filed in proceedings concerning the country's betting framework.

The associations’ petition seeks to suspend Brazil’s fixed-odds betting prohibition, potentially affecting authorised operators and enforcement.
