Angola's Secretary of State for Tax Affairs, José Leiria, visited the Gaming Supervision Institute (ISJ) on 21 October. The ISJ director general, Nerethz Tati, and members of the board of directors received Leiria, who was accompanied by his director of office, Bráulio Assis. The visit covered the institute's role in regulating, supervising and overseeing gaming in Angola.

While at the institute, Leiria was shown around its facilities and introduced to operational teams, and he heard presentations covering the ISJ's current initiatives and strategic projects. Those presentations set out the institute's main ongoing projects, its strategic activities and the operational framework it uses to regulate the gaming industry. Effective regulation, cooperation between public institutions and responsible development of Angola's gaming market were also discussed.

Leiria praised the dedication and efforts of the ISJ's leadership and staff and encouraged them to remain focused on institutional excellence. He reaffirmed the government's continued support for a transparent, well-regulated gaming market and said responsible gaming remains a central priority for the sector.

The visit gave the institute a chance to assess its ongoing strategic projects, examine its operational framework and bring tax administration and gaming sector regulation into closer alignment. The ISJ said it was grateful for the visit and stressed that it remains committed to fulfilling its mandate in the public interest.
