Alberta iGaming Corporation appointed Dan Keene as its permanent chief executive, effective 21 April 2026, according to the report. Keene previously held the role on an interim basis; the appointment comes as the province prepares to launch its regulated commercial iGaming market.

The Canadian Lottery Coalition said Molly Cormier became its executive director on 30 March 2026, replacing Will Hill, who left the post late in 2025. Cormier previously worked in communications roles at Atlantic Lottery Corporation, most recently as director of brand and communications.
Alberta launched its regulated online gambling market on Monday, with 22 operators’ websites live on the first day, according to the report. The Alberta iGaming Corporation will manage the commercial market, while the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission regulates it. Operators must provide player-protection tools, and the rules direct 20% of approved sites’ net revenue to Alberta’s General Revenue Fund and 3% of total gross gaming revenue to First Nations and social responsibility initiatives.
Alberta confirmed that its regulated online casino and sports betting market will launch on 13 July 2026. Minister Dale Nally said player protection will be central; operators must provide account activity statements, respond to signs of problem gambling and connect to the AGLC’s central self-exclusion system. The AGLC may grant eligible unregulated operators extensions of up to three months, to 13 October, on a case-by-case basis.
Alberta’s 90-day transition period for unregulated online operators ended on 13 October. The Alberta iGaming Corporation said 51 approved sites were live, with 30 operators launching regulated platforms. Operators without final authorisation must shut down in the province.
It was reported that AiGC chief executive Dan Keene said Alberta could outperform its regulated gambling channelisation targets. The province aims for 70% after the first year and 75% after the second.
