AJOM backs training and talent to grow Melilla's online gambling sector

Deals & M&A · SectorWire deskSource published 1 min read

The Association of Online Gambling of Melilla (AJOM) is prioritising specialised training, talent recruitment and public-private collaboration to expand the regulated online gambling industry in the city, it said following a panel at the Gaming in Spain Conference 2026 in Madrid. AJOM said it aims to attract new companies and support existing operators.

The panel, titled "Melilla y el juego regulado en España", brought together Sergio Martínez Ranero, site manager of Codere Online in Melilla; Patricia Lalanda, partner at LOYRA Abogados; and Amandine Haincaud, operations director of El Dorado. According to AJOM, the session was used to give visibility to the city's potential and to examine development opportunities for the industry.

AJOM considers it a priority to strengthen training and to make it easier for qualified professionals to join the sector's various areas of activity. Among the fields with the most development potential, it lists technology, customer service, fraud prevention and regulatory compliance, specialties that it says require professional profiles suited to a digital and regulated industry.

The association said it maintains its commitment to collaboration between companies and institutions to contribute to the economic diversification of Melilla, to favour new employment opportunities and to strengthen the city's presence in the Spanish regulated online gambling market.
