Argentina's central bank, the BCRA, is preparing a system to help detect transfers to accounts linked to illegal gambling, according to reports. From September, transfer administrators are due to receive public BCRA data and provide banks and payment-service providers with free fraud-risk profiles for individuals.
Reportedly, Argentina's BCRA introduced a financial security framework under Communication A 8473. Payment system administrators must develop individual fraud risk profiles and provide them free to banks and payment service providers. The framework includes a public database and could identify accounts transferring funds to unauthorised betting sites, with implementation planned gradually over the coming months.
